Biography

Having been born into a family of craftsmen and musicians, I have enjoyed working with wood from a young age. I was on my way to becoming a  carpenter and taking over the family business, but fell in love with the Italian mandolin and lutherie.

In search of being able to make the kind of instruments that excites musicians, I graduated from the musical instrument making course at the University of Ghent Music Conservatory and worked as an instrument maker in workshops in Ghent (Be) and Cremona (It).

These days, having my own workhop, I find it an absolute privilege to work on new mandolins and restore antique instruments for musicians to enjoy.
